Okay, okay, okay... So yesterday wasn't the best day ever, but today is a new day! Plus, it's the WEEKEND! The sun is out, the high is 68 degrees and it's the perfect day to figure some things out. I think a run and some good ol' fashioned thinking will do me some good. I actually have a lot to do today. I have 3 books to read, nails and toes to paint, jobs that won't apply to themselves, and plans to see Alice in Wonderland! Chad and I tried to go last night, but it was sold out.
I tried to order tickets ahead of time but Fandango messed up. Guess those little bag people ain't so great after all. I'm pretty pumped about seeing Alice though, it was one of my faves as a kid, and now that it's back and in 3D... JACKPOT. Tomorrow is Sunday, and apparently in Austin, Sunday Brunch is the THING TO DO. Sleeping in on Sunday isn't an option. Sunday mornings should be spent in church, but in Austin, it is spent with a bloody mary or mimosa in hand, at one of the many "gospel" brunches, or even "Hippie Church" over at Maria's taco express. Since Chad and I usually do sleep in on Sundays, we were not really aware of this ritual, so last Sunday, when we did wake up early. We decided to give this brunch thing a shot.
We headed over to Hyde Park Bar and Grill. It was a 30 minute wait, so we headed over to the bar for a bloody mary or 3. We ordered some tamales, our first ever. They were alright, but definitely NOT Diners, Drive ins, and Dives, material. Guy Fieri probably wouldn't say "OH, NOW THAT'S THE MONEY." Chad ordered Egg's Florentine and it looked SO good! I didn't know WHAT to order... as usual, so I told the waiter to bring me his fave, so I got a plate of biscuits and gravy. The gravy was alright, but the biscuit totally made up for it! We also got a side of

these...YUM. Apparently Hyde Park has been voted "Best Fry in Austin" for years now... WHY HAD I NOT KNOWN THIS?!?!? These fries are FRESH cut, then rolled in batter, THEN fried. Heaven in my mouth. Brunch is TOTALLY my new favorite thing in the whole wide, WORLD!
So yeah, I didn't get the job yesterday, or any job I have interviewed for, but whatever. I'm trying to make some connections and hopefully they will come in handy someday. So, typically when I'm out and about socializing, I get asked for my card... well I don't have one... UNTIL NOW. I designed some "mini" card on MOO cards. Here is a little preview of what I designed.
This is the front of the glossy stock card...
This is the info on the back...
And these are all the FUN colors I ordered them in...
I can't wait to do this...
Well I'm off to the park to run, read and paint my tootsies. I'll probably be back later.
K BYE.
