NOPE!

I actually don't have any idea what I want to write about today. So I'm just going to wing it. FYI. Go enter Rachel's blog giveaway- it's a good, no GREAT one! I plan to do one too... but I need a job and money first. But when that happens, I promise it's gonna be GOOD.

I'm watching Unwrapped right now on the Food Network, and I really want some candy.

Did you like that? I think I'm going to start incorporating some inside thoughts and actions into my blog... if it's annoying, let me know. So my new favorite song is "Be Ok" by Ingrid Michaelson. You may recognize this name because I've written about her on previous blogs. I discovered her on Pandora, and figured out that I already knew this song... from a Dell, Mott's apple juice, and Hallmark commercial... Subconsciously this song needed to be in my life, and NOW it is!

Download it now...k thanks.

Now, I'm watching Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, still on The Food Network, (my fave channel!) It is one of my favorite shows. Guy Fieri cracks me up, and it has introduced me to some of my favorite spots in Austin!

He just did a spot on a hot dog joint, and he should totally come to Frank in Austin.
Chad and I ate there the other day and it was AWESOME. The bloody marys are made with bacon infused vodka and comes in a mason jar, complete with a piece of bacon... sounds gross... but it was probably the best bloody mary I've ever had... even better than mine.
I also enjoyed my first ever WHOOPIE PIE. If you have never had one... IT IS AMAZING. Sort of like an oatmeal cream pie, only CHOCOLATE and the icing in the middle is HEAVEN!
SO BIG NEWS PEOPLE.
Most of you have probably seen on facebook, but if not... I CHOPPED ALL MY HAIR OFF. For some reason, on Friday, I just had this impulse to do it. I didn't tell anyone, not even Chad. So I headed over to Hairy Situations over on South Congress and prayed for a walk in appointment. I was skeptical at first
because this place seemed too hip for me. All the stylists had tattoos, crazy pink hair or mullets, and piercings from head to toe. I'm not one to judge, but was this place for me? Well, they called my name, and it was MY turn and there was NO turning back now. So, I knew I wanted to go shorter, but not necessarily SHORT. So I sat my frightened self down in the chair, pulled my hair down from a bun and Teddy, my hairdresser, began to rave about my luxurious hair, (seriously) well, to her shock, I immediately cut her off and told her to cut it off. I didn't think my hair was long enough to donate, but she said that it was. So I was DOWN. However, as soon as she cut that pony tail off, I FREAKED. So as she trimmed, trimmed, and TRIMMED some more, I freaked more and more. 10 inches shorter and
probably a pound lighter, my head was done. The result was A LOT shorter than I wanted. Like... A LOT. I initially wanted it to touch my shoulders... FAIL. My luck, after, Teddy, tells me that she cut the pony tail off too high and had to go from there... but what could I do? So, my hair will be shipped off to someone who will enjoy more than I. I enjoyed it for a good while, but, in the end, it was more of a hassle.
I try not to be a hassle. Unless it comes to Chad... it's fun to hassle him. HAHA.
So, I'm now a short haired brunette, and I'm sure people won't recognize me for a while, but like I, will get used to it. I still use a ton of shampoo without thinking, but it only takes about a minute to blow dry, and after a few runs with a straightener, I'm GOOD TO GO. Now, that is my kind of hair care!! So the weather here has been INSANE. I just don't get it. Today it went from rainy, to BEAUTIFUL, back to rainy and windy as H-E- double hockey sticks. I just don't get it. Last week, I wore shorts one day, then had to bundle up, head to toe because yeah... IT SNOWED.
I got to enjoy what everyone else had enjoyed earlier this month. I mean, it was NUTS! It wasn't heavy enough to play in, and was mostly sleet, but it definitely snowed. Too bad the ground was wet from the rain, or the snow probably would have stuck a little better! I was busy at the mall applying for jobs, but I did manage to take a few shots. ENJOY!
I think I have more to talk about, but I'm tired and I'm going to read a little then head off to dreamland...btw, I have had the weirdest dreams lately. I'll tell you more about that tomorrow. Until then!

  1. good for you chopping your hair off. Sometimes its good to just go out on a limb. I personally think the best salons are the ones just like the one you described. Its the same concept as going to the MAC counter. Their sense of style is off the chart and they have a natural way of finding yours {even when you aren't sure what that is}. Looks fabulous!!

  2. 1. I love, love, love the Food Network. Its my "safe" channel. Like at night when I dont want anything scary on right before I go to bed, I stick to the Food Network, or the Weather Channel. Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is my favorite. No, maybe its Best Thing I Ever Ate. Or it could be Throwdown with Bobby Flay. Agh, there are just too many good shows to choose from, I love them all. Except maybe Down Home with the Neelys and some of the ones they play on Saturday morning.

    2. This is random, but about your job... you seem so creative. Have you thought about starting your own company? Im not sure what your degree is in, but what about doing some marketing consulting? So many businesses have had to cut back their staff, but still need marketing work done. Hiring you would be a lot easier than taking someone on full time. And you could work from home. My dream. Just a thought...

  3. Thanks for the comments! Megan- I know that if we lived anywhere near each other I feel like that we would totally have "food Network" parties and apply what we learn... and try out new diners! If you ever make it out to Austin, I will take you to a Guy Fieri hot spot!!! Anyhow, YES I have thought about starting my own company (My total dream... I've already thought of names for my "ULTIMATE-GO-TO-PR-IT-GIRL" company, but I really believe to be successful, I need some experience under my belt! But I will definitely take your suggestion to heart! So until then...
p.s. I LOVE YOUR BLOG. I don't even know you, and I feel like I can near you talking....
