A Day Later...YUMMY

So I got a little busy yesterday after I left the shop and didn't have a chance to make it back to you sweet blog, but now I'm back to finish up what I had once started. I was talking about my dinner at Fino with Martha and I wanted to reveal what I had to eat... because it was DELICIOUS! I got the "Mussels & Sherry Broth" which was mussels, tomatoes, grilled bread, and lemon aioli (a type of mayonnaise... once a Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, question, the dude said mustard...He should have used me as his lifeline.) YUM, and a "Mixed Green" salad with smashed avocado and parmesan crisp. YUM again! It had an extra YUMMY sherry and roasted garlic vinaigrette. THEN I had a SUPER DUPER YUMMY dessert...and it's funny because I was just talking to Chad the other day about how I never had flan, but wanted to try it... I've heard that it is comparative to pudding and jello mixed together so I was IN! As soon as the waiter mentioned flan, (Coconut Flan) my eyes lit up! I was ready for a new taste bud adventure! He brings out this delightful little pudding jello THING covered in some sort of sauce and a poached apricot, I got too excited and didn't take a picture because I dug right in. I can now say that I LOVE FLAN! Thanks again Martha for a wonderful evening! After I left the shop, I headed out to Town Lake to do my "run."
This cold air certainly isn't helping me out. I feel like I'm inhaling a tornado every time I breathe... not cool. I'm supposed to be getting used to it, but I'm just not... SO... AUSTIN WARM UP ALREADY!!! I did not move here for 40 degree weather! sheesh. BUT while I was running I did get the pleasure of seeing some FABULOUS sights... I think you will all agree. First I'm just running along and this is what I'm looking at, for those of you not in Austin, jealous?
Well, YOU SHOULD BE. If you look in the middle... that little speck is a REAL LIVE SWAN, we aren't at the zoo people, but just at the park. (Sorry the iPhone has NO zoom... I've tried a few apps but they just make my pics blurry... if you know of a good Zoom app- let me know!!) Anyway, it made me feel like I was in a fairy tale. THEN I saw this... HOLY OSCAR MEYER WIENER TRUCK!
Let me just say that this put a HUGE smile on my face. Who would have thought by going on a run I would run into THIS? Wasn't on my list of things to do but I certainly enjoyed it. So I continued to run, inhaling wind storms and when I finished, I left the park and headed to Whole Foods. Okay, this is like one of my most FAVORITE PLACES in the world. I recently bought some ahi tuna steaks and needed some ponzu sauce and wasabi powder. I'm sure I could have gotten it somewhere else, but I will use any excuse to get in there. I walked around enjoying the smells and picking up my needed items when I came around to the SALAD BAR. Now, I love me a good salad bar! I grabbed a few things and a HUGE slice of cake... Haha. I know what y'all are thinking, but it was whole grain so that makes it healthy right? WHATEVER. I don't care because I had just finished running and I deserved a reward... right?? It was whole grain strawberry shortcake with fresh strawberries, cream, and almond slivers...YUM YUM YUM!
Chad was working late so dinner was for myself and it was DELICIOUS. So I plopped on the couch, ate my dinner, took a shower and then applied for a few jobs.
When Chad got home we continued "Hollywood Week" on American Idol and we found out a few of the Top 24. A few of my faves were cut earlier in the week, but I still have a few in the running... excited to see what happens! I was off to sleep to get ready for HUMP DAY! My Wednesday would consist of a monthly AWC luncheon and my follow up interview at Hudson on 5th. So BIG DAY! Good day folks!
