BOOGITY! BOOGITY! BOOGITY!

NASCAR IS BACK! I couldn't be more excited. Though today was mostly delayed because a chunk of the track came up, there are 50 laps to go and it's anyones race. I support the RCR (Richard Childress Racing) guys, and one of them happens to be contending for the lead right about now. Kevin Harvick is in the lead but it can always change. Kev also won the Bud Shootout. His team mates Clint Bowyer and Jeff Burton (my main guy) are both in the top 15 as of now. I'll let you know how they finish. The Daytona 500 is probably the most famous or well known race that happens in the land of Nascar or THE WORLD. I can actually say that I've been to Daytona! It is SOOO fun! Unfortunately the race I went to was rained out and I only got to see qualifying but it was still awesome! So if you are reading this and thinking that it is ridiculous that I like Nascar... 1. don't knock it 'til you rock it, 2. Go to a race, you won't be disappointed and 3. just watch a race on tv, the commercials during a Nascar race are 179% better than any Super Bowl commercial and you get new ones every week.
It is the year of the TIGER. Were you born during a Year of the Tiger? You were if you were born in one of these years: 1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, and 1998. If you want to know more about the year of the tiger then check out Wikipedia. So today is a busy day, on top of Nascar AND Chinese New Year, it is ALSO Valentine's Day. Now I, like many, used to HATE this day, but not so much anymore. This is my 2nd Valentine's day WITH a Valentine and it's not so bad... Chad was my first and is now my second Valentine. We decided to celebrate a
day early so that we could avoid the crowds and such. So we went over to SoCo (South Congress) and ate at Guero's Taco Bar...YUM. I love Guero's! They have great drinks and an even greater atmosphere. They have this outside area with probably my most favorite tree ever. Yes, I have a favorite tree.
It is completely wrapped in Christmas lights and is just simply magical. They had a band, which most places in Austin usually have, they called themselves Mike Milligan, "Texas Blues with Louisiana Attitude" and they were awesome. Mr. Mike is pretty swagger (did I use that word right?) with a harmonica. So after a few tunes and tacos, we headed over to see the critically shot down romantic comedy Valentine's Day. How can you NOT see a movie that has all the stars that it does. I thought it was really cute. Chad even enjoyed it, (and for the record HE wanted to see it...) He's going to kill me for that, but I'm here to speak the truth! Sorry this whole post has been a bunch of nonsense, but I'm focused on the race! So anyhow, before our date we went running at Town Lake and that is probably one of my most favorite things to do. I like to see all the people and all the doggies!
There is also a BIG Texas at the top of this hill. I took a pic of where I live...yeah, and those are my awesome neon shoes! I seriously LOVE Austin. We also pit stopped at the Austin Marathon Expo. That was cool, we learned about different upcoming races that we are interested in training for so wish us luck! I'm aiming for the DISNEY marathon next year... you know I love me some Disney!
So, today I decided to take a rest day because my legs are sore. Training for a marathon is HARD! Sheesh. Anyhow, Chad went running anyway, he is WAY ahead of me in this training stint. It's okay though, I know I can get there! "I think I can.. I think I can..." However, when he came back from running he had chocolate covered strawberries and flowers in hand! How sweet! Though the flowers were wilted (clearly waited last minute) it was totally the thought that counts! He aimed at my favorite flowers and missed, but only by a little. My favorite flowers are the plain ol' daisies... the white ones with yellow middles, he got them right last year but this year he got gerber daisies... the big ones, but I love them all the same because HE got them for me. He also got me a cute little card... LOVE YOU CHAD!
We will also be celebrating Valentine's Day on Thursday when we go see Cirque Du Soleil's Alegria. I got us tix as his gift and we are uber excited! We went to see KOOZA in Atlanta last year and loved it! I've been to La Nouba in Disney World (Where else?!?!) twice and I seriously cannot get enough Cirque! I want to go to Vegas and see all the shows there too! Hint Hint... SO if you ever get a chance to go see a Cirque Du Soleil I suggest you DO IT! (Take me with you!)
We will also be celebrating again in April because Chad got me some Chelsea Handler Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang tour tickets. I really like this whole ticket exchange idea, it is not only something fun to do together, but it is something to look forward to. So I absolutely LOVE Chelsea Handler, she is just so funny and fabulous! (like me!) She is also a great writer!(like me!) I have read both of her books and TOTALLY recommend them. I'm on the edge of my seat for her new one!
So that is all I have for today. I have been reading The 5 Love Languages, and The Abs Diet. I'll let you know how that is going tomorrow! I also have my meeting with the Technical Arts Group tomorrow night so wish me luck! I have my follow up for the Event Planner position at Hudson on 5th on Wednesday so wish me more luck on that AND I got a call today about a marketing position at The Greening Law Firm and I will be following up that call tomorrow so I will also let you know about that! 'Til then... BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY!!!
P.S. This THING tried to attack me on our walk back to the car... seriously.
